Dear Shela and Rosie and families. Our hearts are so heavy and we feel your sorrow. Fryda and all your mishpocha were a part of our lives since the beginning on Howland Avenue. I delivered Mrs Krebs medication for two years. During that time when I would come she was usually having toast and a hot drink. We would converse in both yiddish and "yinglish." She always had her money ready for the delivery and always made sure that I had a tip. May her memory be for a blessing.

Sheila, Rosie and family: My deepest sympathies on the passing of your mom. I have many fond memories of her, as well as of your dad, over our years as neighbours. Your parents had a sort of folk wisdom to them that none of us "formally educated" folks could ever match. Your mom was generous with her baking, her spare funds which she lent many a neighbour/friend without hesitation, and with her smiles. She also never failed to brag about her grandchildren and later great-granchildren. The last few years were very difficult, yet whenever she was up to it, she'd still be out on her porch, ready for a chat. Her presence will be missed on Evanston Drive and her spirit missed in our hearts. -- Janyce Lastman
