Freid, Michael, peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Southlake Regional Hospital. Michael Freid beloved brother and brother-in-law of Loren and Lisa Freid. Loving uncle of Emma-Belle. Dear son of the late Edward and Belle Freid. At Steeles Memorial Chapel for service on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. Interment: Blue Star Lodge Section of Bathurst Lawn Memorial Park. Shiva: 89 McClellan Way, Aurora. My condolences to the Freid family. I worked with Michael for 14 years. He used to have his company which he was so proud of ( Trillium Photography ) take pictures at our dance schools. He loved his work and had a passion for the business. I am proud to be able to call him a good friend. He was an honorable and kind human being with a big heart and a gentle soul. I played basketball with Mike at MacKenzie. He was a great guy and a great teammate. I hadn’t seen him in many years but I remembered him from time to time and the memories always brought a smile to my face. He was famous in High School for a fabulous comedy routine he did on stage that was made up only of Da Da Da Da Da .......

I was very sorry to learn today of Mike's passing. We played Mackenzie basketball together for 2 years. Mike was the anchor on our defense and an integral part of our winning the North York Senior Basketball championship in 1972. I will never forget seeing him for the 1st time in the gym, palming 2 basketballs and surveying the landscape of the basketball talent he would be playing with. Unfortunately, I have not seen him for a number of years. He was a terrific team mate and friend in high school. i have so many wonderful memories of him from high school and our basketball success. My condolences to his family for their loss.
