Oh I am devastated to learn of Sam's death. He was such a breath of fresh air, always. As a small child, being dragged around to adult gatherings by my parents, I always looked forward to seeing him. He was so funny! He made me laugh; he made everything more interesting. He was also kind and generous and smart and so strong. May his memory be a blessing.

A lifetime of memories and dear friends of our parents. Sam made us smile every time we saw him. A true soldier for Israel. We are very sorry for his loss.

My sincere condolences at your loss. I had many pleasant interactions with Sam at Baycrest and I enjoyed speaking with him. He always called me "Mr. Green", even though I asked him to call my by my first name. He had many interesting stories that he shared with me, and I was very honoured that he invited me to attend the function at Baycrest related to the release of his book "Carry the Torch" published by the Azrieli foundation. He had strength of character and lead an amazing, fascinating and tragic life. I will miss seeing him driving his scooter around the halls and corridors at Baycrest, (as I'm sure many others will as well.

Dear Sharon and Aaron I was very sad to hear of Sam's passing. I fondly remember his quick sense of humour and the many stories that taught me so much about the holocaust. I cherished his visits with Rosa. Throughout one's career in the practice of medicine there are individuals who will stand out on the basis of their outstanding character. I was deeply saddened to hear of Mr. Weisberg's passing. Sam Weisberg was an incredible man, and I would like to convey to the family how much I gained and learned from my brief encounters with him as a volunteer at Baycrest. I first met Mr. Weisberg three years ago when I was serving as a high school volunteer at the Baycrest Sunday concerts. During Grade 10, I was working on a project about the movie "Schindler's List," and I was researching the events depicted in it. When I discovered that Mr. Weisberg was a survivor of the infamous Plaszow Concentration Camp, depicted in "Schindler's List," I asked if I could interview him for my project, and he graciously agreed. Mr. Weisberg patiently shared his amazing story of survival with my mother and me. From this encounter with him, I got a sense of his formidable intelligence, great wit, and especially of his strength of character. I was inspired by how he had chosen to rebuild his life after all that he had experienced, and that he was not only willing, but driven, to share his story with the younger generation to make sure that what had occurred during the Holocaust would never be forgotten. I also came to appreciate Mr. Weisberg's character by witnessing his devotion to his beloved wife. He spent the majority of every day by her side, and I saw how concerned he was for her comfort and how he exerted himself greatly to ensure that she was well taken care of by the staff and volunteers at Baycrest. His love and caring for her were apparent and it was my privilege to see Mr. Weisberg demonstrate this level of devotion. May his neshama have an aliyah, not only through his descendants who bear witness to his courage by contributing to the rebuilding of the Jewish nation, but also through all those whom he influenced and inspired throughout this life.
