Stone, Richard, on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre. Richard Stone will be fondly missed by his companion and mother to his three children, Judy Stone. Loving father of Robert Stone, Lisa Marchione, and Michael Stone. Father-in-law of Marco Marchione. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Marcia and the late Billy Levine. Cherished grandfather of Anthony. Special thanks to the medical staff that were involved in his care. He will be sadly missed by all whom he touched.

To Judy and Marsha and the whole Stone family. I found out only by a message early today one day after the funeral. I was shocked and stunned by the news. We were best friends for many years and had many memorable times together. Although we drifted apart over the years I did think of him often and wish I knew that he was even sick. It would have been nice to discuss old times but now, alas this will never happen. The lesson to be learned here is when you think of someone, give them a call and tell them so. I will miss his laugh and his ambition to always have a fun time. He was a big part of my life during high school and university and those memories will live on. Goodbye Rick!

It wasn't until this afternoon that I became aware of Richard's passing. Since then I have been in a state of shock and almost catatonic. Although we had a falling out of sorts back in the early 2000's, Richard will always remain an integral part of my lifelong memories. In July of 1969 when Neil Armstrong took his first step for all mankind onto the moon, we watched and celebrated it together with some good friends. When the Blue Jays won their first World Series in 92, we watched it and celebrated it together, and to so many other milestones in our lives. I even think I still have the two silver dollars he paid me, as a Cohain, for Michael at his bris . I am so sad and regretful that I had no knowledge of Richard's circumstances and even more regretful that I never had the chance to forgive, mend fences and say goodbye. In particular, to Marcia and Michael, as well as to the rest of Richard's family and loved ones, I wish you all my heartfelt condolences. When we talk about him, my daughter still refers to him as Uncle Ricky. To you Richard, may Hashem watch over you.

I am very sorry to learn that Richard has passed away. I worked as Richard's law clerk from 1999 to 2004. We had a lot of fun in the office, including Robert as the receptionist and Irma, Richard's long time legal assistant. I greatly appreciated Richard's sense of humour and ability to put things into perspective. My condolences to the family at this difficult time, but take heart in knowing that Richard affected a lot of lives in a positive way.
