Baruch Dayan Emes. Eli was a complex, immensely erudite personality. May his neshamah find peace - a quality which he did not always find in life. One of life's unforgettable personalities.

Very sorry to hear of Dr. Pfefferkorn's passing. He was a great teacher and an even better friend to me during my years at CHAT. Dr. Pfefferkorn was incredibly devoted to his students and possessed a great sense of humour. May his memory be a blessing

A tragic loss of one the great influences on my adolescent and adult life. I had the pleasure of continuing to know Eli years after graduation. His fire never darkened. I can still remember his turning off the lights in our classroom, lighting two tall candles, while dressed in his Brown robes, announcing in a sober voice: "the Spanish Inquisition will now begin." Eli was in a class-apart among educators I have encountered in all my education. The history he taught barely seemed old, rather it was alive for him, and thus for us. I recall each essay I read in his class. His life experiences were full of pleasure and pain and everyone in his orbit got to know about this. I miss Eli dearly. My condolences to Vered.

I remember Dr Pfefferkorn fondly. He was one teacher that left an inedible mark - in character. He was warm, funny, and so witty. Til this day I hear his voice when I remember certain jokes. My deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and fellow students. Adena Scheer Class ‘99

May Professor Pfefferkorn rest in peace. I learned so much from him in a Holocaust literature course at Tel Aviv University in 1978. May his memory be a blessing.
