For many years Joseph was the Director and heart and soul of Camp Massad in Muskoka. He was a wonderful, kind and gentle man and I enjoyed many years there as camper and staff. May you be comforted by the hundreds of campers who grew under his tutelage.

I was very saddened to read of Mar Klinger's passing. I remember him quite well from back in the Beth Tzedec Hebrew Scool days. He was always fair and patient, although probably fed up with our class. My deepest condolences for your loss. He was a great teacher.

A wonderful, thoughtful kind man and hebrew school teacher at Beth Tzedec. I remember him with fondness, affection and respect. As much as I was dismissive of hebrew school, I was nevertheless admiring of Mr. Klinger. May his memory be for a blessing

From about 1952 - 1955 Mr. Klinger took the train to Ingersoll (near London) to teach the children of the four jewish families who lived there their Heder lessons. I was one of those children. He was new to the country and we were not always as respectful as we should have been but he helped prepare my brother and several others for their Bar Mitzvahs. When I later lived here in Toronto, our paths crossed and we shared memories of those days. He was a positive influence on my formative years, as i realized much later, when i came to appreciate his unshakable faith and his dedication to our betterment. My condolences for your loss.

Selila and family, I extend my condolences to you at this sad time. I have nothing but the fondest memories of your family. I first met your father when I was a student at Beth Tzedec Congregational School and then found out that we were neighbours - my Markdale backyard backed on to your Warwick backyard. And so we became friends and played in the late 60's. Your father's love of teaching modern Hebrew language to so many of us is a lasting legacy to be cherished.

Of all the teachers I had back in the 50 ‘s and early 60’s . Mr. Klinger was the one I respected the most. He was certainly a fine man and will be greatly missed.

I remember Mr. Klinger so fondly ;he was my hebrew teacher at Beth Tzedec. You could not kind a kinder, more patient man anywhere.He had such a beautiful heart. My sincere condolences to his family.We were all so blessed to have known him.

Selila, I am so sorry for your loss. I am also heartbroken that I cannot attend dear Joe’s levayah today as I am sick in bed- terrible flu! Joe was a very special and dear friend of mine since the early 1980’s. He was also a great mentor to me in the field of Jewish education for children. And I had the privilege of working with him. He was our principal at B’nai Shalom Hebrew School and then at Ateret Shalom Hebrew School up to 2006. His exuberance for life and work was always a great inspiration. His quick wit, quips and humour would brighten your day. He was a real mentch who would go out of his way to help others. And in his spare time he studied medical journals. And he loved to share his knowledge. I know how much he loved you and his grandchildren, as he always took such great pride, over the years, in all of your accomplishments. Mr Klinger was my Hebrew Teacher in the Beth Tzedec days and taught me my Bar Mitzvah lessons in 1963. He was a special man that I have never forgotten, so patient and kind. Upon returning from a trip to Israel he presented me with the gift of a key chain with red sand from the Negev Desert, I still have it tucked away. The great sense of pride he had in nurturing the young people he took under his wing will always be fondly remembered. My sincere condolences to each family member and to all that were touched by his heart.

I was a student of Joseph Klinger a number of years past, at Keren Hatarbut Hebrew Language School, the Ulpan style of learning. I have very strong and vivid memories of his teaching, and of course his saying "do not change the sex" grammatically speaking. I remember his relaxed, patient and focused manner in which he taught. Joseph had a good sense of humour when telling the class a joke, he would always laugh before he reached the punchline. I know as a student the best gift one can give his/her teacher is to study the subject to the best of one's ability. It is with this vigour that I will continue to study in memory of his honour.

I was very saddened by the passing of my Hebrew teacher, Yosef Klinger. I took Hebrew classes at the Keren Hatarbut Institute and will always remember Yosef's patience and effective method of teaching Hebrew. He was a very gentle and kind man who always looked out for each of his students. He will be missed very much. My sincere condolences to the family. May he be a Melitiz Yosher for his family and may his neshama have an aliyah.

Dear Selila and family Please accept my and my family's deepest condolences and sorry for your loss. Joseph Klinger was a great friend and teacher. I am sorry to hear of his passing but know he is in a better place. Joseph was instrumental in guiding me in my faith and knowledge of the Holy Scriptures.
