Sue, It is difficult to watch a parent age and decline into ill-health. But you have had the privilege of a relationship with your Mum in your adult years that many do not get. You will cherish the memories even as you grieve her passing. Her trials are over and for that we can be thankful. Our sympathies to you and your family.

Dear Lysy Family Your parents were such good friends with my uncle Zoli. I remember hearing some wild stories that happened in Tilsonburg. I was so happy to have had the opportunity to hear your mothers story and because our families were neighbors your mother gave me a glimpse of what my family’s life was like prewar in Kocise. May her memory and all our families memories be a blessing.

I had the privilege of working with Judy through the Neuberger Holocaust Centre just over a year ago as her story captivated hundreds of students. Her memory will never be forgotten; We mourn with you, the loss of another cherished survivor.

Dear Eva, Sue, Amy and Marnie, I am so saddened to read this news. I knew Judy to always be the life of the party, a vivacious woman, full of life, singing and dancing to the oldies. Our parents lived difficult lives but had the wherewithal to soldier on and build successful lives for themselves and us. Your parents/grandparents always exemplified that while never forgetting their painful pasts. I wish you peace and comfort in the good memories Judy leaves behind.

Dear Eva, Please accept my sincere condolences on the death of your dear mother.

Dear Eva, Susie and Families I was deeply saddened to hear the news of your dear Mother's passing. We met roughly 45 years ago in Tillsonburg. I was a part-time sales clerk at Judy's Specialty Shoppe. She was such a strong willed, take charge and get it done lady with a kind and generous heart. She left me with a lasting impression. In later years I looked forward to trips to Market in TO. She lead the way, in tow followed by; Aline Trottier, Dorothy Weeks, Beth Ann (Hearn) Trottier and myself. She was a "Well Respected Fashionista With A Presence". We would stay at the Royal York and often your Father would escort us to dinner perhaps in Yorkville, or Ed's Warehouse or Carmen's Club. These are experiences with your parents that I will never forget. As I got older (or perhaps matured) your Father gave me permission to call his George, I never could, to me he was always Mr. Lysy. He was such an unassuming and kindly man who worshipped your Mother. Probably one of your Mother's last retail ventures was Our Specialty Shop back in her original location on Broadway in Tillsonburg. As young entrepreneurs both Lydia (Herale) Trottier and myself were very proud to be co-owners with her in this new venture for us. She was not only our mentor but our friend. As you mourn her passing and celebrate her life my thoughts and deepest sympathy are with you all. One of her sayings has stuck with me, she would say to me in her thick accent "Vindy (not Wendy) you can't always dance at weddings". Wendy Hearn Blodgett Tillsonburg, Ontario
