I'm am so sorry to hear of Joan's passing. She was a lovely, warm and caring person. I will miss her and know that her family will carry many good memories with them of the wonderful meals she lovingly prepared and family gatherings they enjoyed together. My thoughts are with Stan, for his great loss.

Joan and I met over70 years ago and have been friends ever since--never once have we ever had an argument. Our journey took us from pre-teens to young marrieds, parents, grandparents, and, in Joan's case, to great-grandparent. Joan was an amazing cook and an even more fabulous baker--always willing to share not only her recipes, but also the cakes--and for me--her party sandwiches. She loved her family deeply, and more than anything , to cook and bake for them, especially Fri. night dinners. Her 3 sons and their spouses arranged Shabbat dinner at her own table for her 2 weeks ago--she told me it was so special and touching to have her family at her table again. She left a wonderful family--the manner in which they cared for her this past while was unbelievable--always there for rides to treatment, conferences with doctors, bringing food and hope.This was a fine tribute to their mother! Joan endured over 5 years of illness--never once complaining but always grateful to her doctors nurses, and other medical staff. It was really difficult to see Joan in the last while, as she struggled to fight the big C--but she did battle with grace and dignity. Joan may have lost the battle, but she won the war! Stan, Howard and Patti, Lawrence and Lynne, David and Sherri and families, Bill and I send our love and know we are here for you. Roz.

I am so sad to hear of Joanie's passing. She traveled this journey without a complaint always saying her doctors looked after her so well and how nice they were. She was always so positive. It is with a heavy heart that I mourn the loss of my very dear friend who was as close as a sister to me. Our families grew up together and remain as close as siblings today. Joanie was my closet friend and most trusted confidant. Dear Stan, Howard, Lawrence, David and Families, On behalf of the Hennick Family, we are all heartbroken to hear of Joan’s passing. Simply put, Joan was a beautiful person. She gave so much of herself to her family and friends. She worked for over 20 years for our father, Sam Hennick, and was a constant to both Sam, Sara and our family as we grew up together. We loved to hear about each of her children and grandchildren, their accomplishments, and simchas which made Joan glow each time she enlightened us about them. Her legacy to us all would be the example she set as a devoted Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother and friend. Her friendship and support will be sadly missed by many, but her strength and devotion will make us smile as we remember her going forward.
