Michael, .ת.נ.צ.ב.ה I ask for Mechilah on behalf of the whole community (myself included), who let you fall through the cracks as one of the many "forgotten yidden"... You had no family, you had no friends, you died penniless. Yet, you never complained and never said a bad word about anyone. This is so sad. Michael had for years shared a room in Cedarvale with his late brother, Leibel (Robert). With Leibel's passing, Michael was left alone . When I would visit, he would be sitting, just sitting, in the lobby.. I don't know if he even had a single regular visitor, even though, as I recall, he was student in Ner Israel for a few years, and a rather normal boy back then. I hope someone says Kaddish for him when the shuls reopen.

Michael Stamler

I grew up with Michael in Eitz Chaim and Ner Israel. Although many years have passed since I saw him he nevertheless has had a place in my heart as someone who positively influenced me. I remember spending time with him both at the yeshiva and at his home. I remember him being very thoughtful of others and he always intensely listened to what people had to say without interruption. I remember his red hair. And I remember his infectious laugh. I am truly, deeply saddened at his passing.
