Rivka passed away peacefully at NYGH after a long brave fight. She was incredibly strong until her body could take no more. Born in Belgium in 1934, she immigrated to Israel in 1935 with her parents and two sisters. In 1953, in the army she met her late husband Mati who she married in 1956. In 1969, they immigrated to Canada with (late) son Uzi and Nava. Their third son was born in Montreal in 1971. Rivka will be terribly missed by her kids Nava and Wayne (son-in-law) Silver, Ernie and Britany (daughter-in-law) Grunvald, Reesa (daughter-in-law) Grunvald and by her grandchildren Lauren and Aiden, Alexis, and Joey. Thank you to all the special staff at North York General Hospital. Laila Tov Eema, rest peacefully with daddy and Uzi and your sisters. You’re always with us, we pray for your heart, soul and beautiful spirit.
