Robert was my neighbor at the Heath view and was always there to help me . I will miss him .

Earl and Marian Dobkin are sad to hear of Roberts passing.We remember the many family gatherings and enjoyable dinners at various restaurnts ar ound the city He was a mensh ,very clever and was always the life of the party.He led Jewsh services at many synagogues andwas always available for some legal advice.

Dear Sheila, Shawna, Mimi and family, Bobby was my first cousin and we grew up as family. I also used to walk Sheila to school when she was in grade school and I was in High School. Dear Sheila, Mimi, Lorne, Sheridan and Morgan and your family I was sorry to hear of Roberts death. He was a gracious, friendly man and I know he is irreplaceable. Please accept my sympathy.

It was sad to hear of Mr. Rothman’s passing. I worked for Mr. Silverman for many years in the same office space as Mr. Rothman. I remember Mr. Rothman offering to buy a coffee and/or doughnut/muffin every now and then and also being charitable to those who were in unfortunate circumstances. Plus, he drove Mr. Silverman and myself home – which was always a memorable experience in and of itself. There was never a dull moment as he had many interesting stories and a good sense of humour. I have fond memories of him teaching me tunes he said most people wouldn’t recognise for the High Holy Days and us singing together at the Narayever at the JCC during shacharit. He certainly was in his element when it came to leading services. He also was a cantor at my and Shimmy’s wedding. He loved to discuss halachot and different stories connected to Judaism. Although he wasn’t religious, he really enjoyed doing the services the traditional way and he liked being thorough. The last time Shimmy and I saw him, he was walking nearby his residence on the road (since there were snow banks). He looked content and just purely enjoying the walk – so much so, he didn’t hear us calling out the window. Since we were on our way to work, we couldn’t stop. He would have made a good teacher as well. I think he would have been especially good with children who need extra attention, as he was very thorough in his way of teaching. I also helped him out with some of his computer issues at the office from time to time. There are many memories. May he rest in peace.
