We are truly sorry to learn of the passing of Harry a'h. Over the years Harry played a vital role in mentoring many of our congregants at Shaarei Tefillah Congregation. Harry especially devoted much time and effort to teaching the yougsters to become proficient in their prayers. We have such fond memories of Harry teaching Jared both his Pinchas barmitzvah portions, saying this is the one for your barmitzvah and this is the one which comes around on a regular basis....more useful for you to know, and teaching Daniel for Chayei Sarah; and of course davening. Harry's legacy lives on in all the boys he taught. A true Moreh .

Anita and family, please be well. המקום ינחם אתכם בתוך שאר אבלי ציון וירושלים Mr. Mandel was one of the greatest teachers I ever had and I was happy to come to shul every Sunday for lessons from him. I will miss his salmon patties and starwberry-cherry soup. HaShem is lucky to now have a wonderful cook and teacher by His side. I wish words wouldn't spectacularly fail me as they are right now. I always remember Harry as a warm and most welcoming man, from the first time that I stepped into Shaarei Tefillah for morning minyan. He always had a quick joke and true love for Yiddishkeit. Mrs. Mandel, may you be comforted in knowing that Harry A"H will have a place in Gan Eden.

My Uncle Harry fed us and made us laugh. He took care of my grandparents as if they would have been his parents. His words of approval when he met my husband meant a lot to me. He will be sorely missed, Zvi & Gitty Landman and family Lakewood, NJ

Dearest Anita.. our deepest condolences on the loss of your beloved Hershey. We have such fond memories of your visits to Montreal. We especially remember how he made our family Friday night dinners for our sons bat mitzvahs ..so joyous by singing and making us sing along, Hr even brought sheets for us to follow along. It made those dinners a true simcha!!... may his neshamah have an aliyah and may he watch over you and all his extended family. We will miss his happy smile. BDE

Dear Anita, I was sorry to read about Harry’s passing. Each time we happened to meet in Toronto we had such a good long chat about the years in Pembroke when he was our teacher. All those wonderful Purim and Chanukah parties, the songs he taught in Hebrew, Yiddish and English, our education about prayer and holidays and Ivrit all started with him. Each afternoon when we came to cheder at the shul after school, our cookies and glass of milk waited for us before we started our studies. I remember him fondly. Dear Anita, I was very sorry to read about Harry’s passing a”h. Whenever we met in Toronto we had good long chats about his time in Pembroke as our teacher. I met Harry about four years ago at the Terraces and would see him on many occasions when I'd go to visit my mother there. He would always greet me with a warm handshake, a friendly smile and a heartfelt zemira (usually "Shabbat Shalom"). He had a wonderful neshama and will be missed. Condolences to Anita and all others who knew and loved this man.

I remember my uncle Harry as the one who would put everyone at ease, either with a kind word, joke or food. Although I was very young, I can still recall when he lived in the same building as my grandparents and took such great care of them, day in and day out. He did so much for so many people and will therefore be missed by so many.
