Michael Harris Lewis

Private Family Service

Michael Harris Lewis
February 22, 1947 to September 24, 2021
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Michael Lewis, beloved father, grandfather, son, brother and friend.
He is survived by his three daughters Sharon Lewis (Eran) of Toronto, Ontario, Tal Lewis (Stephen) of Newmarket, Ontario and Danielle Lewis (Jon) of Rogers, Arkansas. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Eli, Eden, Ethan, Jack and Asher. He leaves behind his mother Florence and younger brother Tony.
Born in London, England and growing up in Montreal, Quebec, Michael was smart beyond belief, charismatic, and always enjoyed a good laugh. He lived a colourful life, and travelled extensively until he found himself in Israel where he settled on Kibbutz Alonim. During his time there he learned Hebrew, married, started his family, served in the IDF and established lifelong friendships.
In 1986 Michael and his family returned to Canada where his third daughter was born. Michael joined the family business where his specialty was sales and marketing.
A great lover of every sport, Michael relished the time he spent coaching his youngest daughter in any of her athletic endeavours.

Michael lived life on his own terms, a free spirit until the very end.

He left us all too soon, and everyone whose life he touched will miss him greatly. We love you “Johnny”.

Dear Dana, Sharon, Tal & Daniel, I was so sad to hear of Michael’s untimely passing- so many memories that make me smile. He was expressive with his opinions, funny and I used to love listening to him talk- he had the greatest voice! May you keep your own memories close and find comfort in them. Love, Cindy

Dear Sharon , Tal, Danielle and Dana. One cannot say the name Michael Lewis without forming a giant smile!! The amazing memories I have of him on Kibbutz Alonim and later back here in Toronto, will never be erased. I know he served in the IDF at a very difficult time and was proud to do so. He was such a funny, kind, man and he will be missed.
