Private Family Service

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of the patriarch of our family Frank Fisico of Thornhill on January 7, 2022 at the age of 73 years. He will be greatly missed by his wife Claire; his children Peter, Ron (Trish), Joel and Jenna; his stepchildren Ronny (Catherine), Raymond (Lila) and Marty (Mari-Beth) Allain; his 10 grandchildren; and brother Ron (Nella) Fisico.

Frank, a man of few but wise and well chosen words, was one of the most intelligent men you could come by. He was of the harder to come by street smarts that could dissect a situation, break down a problem, and find a resolution – a pragmatic thinker in every way. It was this thinking that made this self-made man’s rise such a successful one. Frank became the captain of his own destiny as a young man, a butcher who overcame social and financial obstacles by making little small moves that became large prominent moves. He embodied the hope of accomplishing success, the American dream so to speak (Canadian dream in this case) despite of one’s race, religion and family history…and like Sinatra who carried the same name sang – he did it his way.

Frank found his love for business after building his first new home in East York, Ontario that set the wheels in motion for a journey that has lasted over 50 years. As the founder of Fisico Group, he developed residential and commercial properties that helped shape the face of the GTA.

The impact of Frank’s loss is felt by many, trickling down from family to friends to colleagues to business associates, who saw him as a father or father figure, a mentor, a leader, and friend. But as Frank would say, “common sense” tells us that everyone’s time on this Earth must come to an end. A loving husband, father and grandfather, his time on this Earth will be remembered and live on in so many ways.
Frank, you will always be our guiding light, as we move forward…one day at a time.
