With great sadness we announce the passing on April 29th, 2022,  of Irene Bines Fritz, mother of Michael (Faegi) Bines and Larry (Sherry) Bines. Irene was the much beloved grandmother of Lainie (Brian) Elton, Jarrod (Mina) Bines, Zach Bines (Taylor), Lauren (Christian) Vieira and Tara (Kenny) Goldman.  She is very blessed to be survived by adoring great-grandchildren, Hazel, Marlowe, Amelia, Ramona, Noah and Leo. 

Having survived the horrors of the Holocaust, she emigrated to Canada to build a new life and raise a family with courage and grace and made a profound impact on those with whom she came into contact. 

Funeral services will take place graveside at Bathurst Lawn Cemetery, #26, Topaz Section, at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 2.  A limited Shiva will follow at 21 Cummings Court Thornhill at the following times: 

Monday 7 – 9 pm, Tuesday and Wednesday 2 – 4 and 7- 9. 

Donations may be made to the Canadian Holocaust Remembrance Society or the charity of your choice.
