With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Shifra (Stefa) Knobel, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Shifra is survived by her children Larry (Rhona) Noble, Pearl (Gidon z’l) Grundland and Mary Noble (Hershel Zellman); her grandchildren and great-grandchildren:   Michael Noble and Sarah Zelcer (Yona, Nava, Lev); Sara Noble and Elliott Hurst (Noah, Max, Liam, Layla); Mindy Noble and Eric Glube (Anna, Jake, Sasha); Batya and Mark Rottmann (Mattan, Benjamin, Amitai); David and Shira Rachel Grundland (Akiva, Mali); Yoni and Lauren Grundland (Joshua, Nessa); Ariel and Naomi Zellman (Idan, Erez, Aviv), Avi and Samantha Zellman (Zev); Jody Zellman. Shifra will be deeply missed by her sister-in-law Hela Knobel (Los Angeles) and her many nieces and nephews in Toronto, Los Angeles and Israel.  Shifra was a Holocaust Survivor.  Only she and her eldest sister Sala survived the horrors of the Holocaust losing her parents, 6 siblings and a large extended family.  She had the strength and resilience to build a beautiful and meaningful life with her beloved husband Nechemia z’l.  Together they nurtured a family committed to Jewish traditions and a love of Israel.   Her legacy lives on through her family, community and all who had the privilege of being in her presence.  The family would like to acknowledge the tremendous support of the Temmy Latner Palliative Care Centre.

Memorial donations may be made to Temmy Latner Palliative Care Center 416-586-8203 Ext.3936 or the Charity of your choice.
