Sidney Finkelstein

Sidney Finkelstein passed away on December 1, 2022 just short of his 90th birthday. He will be sorely missed by his soulmate, Leah his wife of 67 years.

He was the devoted father and father-in-law of Joel Finkelstein and Paula Schipper, Judy and David Snider and Richard and Michelle Finkelstein.

He was blessed with eight grandchildren and one great grandson. Cory, Jessica and Eli, Dinah, Tara, Sam, Ellie, Emma, Alyssa and Noah.

He is survived by his sister Frances Marshall.

A graveside service will be held on Friday December 2, 2022 at 12:00 PM, at Pardes Chaim Cemetery, Beth David Synagogue section.

I was enthralled to hear Leah speak of her marriage to Sid many, many times over the years and envied such a beautiful relationship and romance. I hope the wonderful memories Joel & Paula, Judy & David, Richard & Michelle and their children shared with their dear father will ease the pain of such a great loss. No matter what age - there is never a good time to lose a father. It was an honour to have known Sid - a true gentleman. His smile and good humour always shone when meeting up with him and I will remember him fondly. May his name be for a blessing.

One of the nicest things that happened when I started going out with Jack Halberstadt was that I me his next door neighbours Leah and Sid Finkelstein and their family. We became very good friends and did many things together. We went to the same condo in Florida and had a lot of fun. Once Jack and Sid went to the big boat show in Miami. It had many beautiful yachts and when the two visited a booth to just get some bottled water, the salesman asked if they had a boat and to not sound like pikers they added their two boats together and said they had a 60footer. The man was impressed and said he could take them and show them some more 60 foot boats if that is what they wanted. Sid then asked if there was room on the deck to land a helicopter. Sid always had a twinkle in his eye and a joke. I have missed him in the last few years and today is very sad. My condolences to the whole family.
