SWARTZ, Pearl Z. (née Bocalter)

Passed away on July 20. Beloved wife of the late Fred Swartz Q.C. for 54 years. Devoted daughter of the late Bella and late Harry Bocalter. Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Eleesha Swartz (Darrell Gold), and Laurel Swartz (Eric Lumberg). Proud Bubbie of Rachel, Jacob and Yoni Gold whom she adored. Survived by sister Ruth Beder.

From Moose Jaw, SK. to Toronto, Pearl always retained a farm girl mentality in how she lived her life. Her husband Fred was the pillar of her life as she was for him. They were “two peas in a pod.” Life revolved around her family – her husband, two daughters, two son-in-laws and three grandchildren – making treasured memories they will carry for their lifetimes.

A proudly Jewish and compassionate woman, she volunteered for years at Mt. Sinai Hospital. She was determined and focused when she made up her mind to do a task and had a strong work ethic – never putting off to tomorrow. Pearl was honest and not afraid to speak her mind and always well-intentioned.

Our deepest gratitude to her devoted caregivers, Maria and Angee and to the incredible doctors at the Temmy Latner Centre, in particular the extraordinary care given by Drs. Jennifer Shapiro and Adam Goldman.
