Daddy I missed you......

It is with great sadness that I learned of the loss of Marvin. What a wonderful man; always ready to assist in whatever capacity for Club L'Chayim; noted wine pourer for our events, always a word of humour to lighten the mood, a bit of a philosopher to explain the events of the day, kind and caring, always smiling. Marvin left his mark on people through the deeds he performed. May his memory forever be a blessing.

So sad to learn of Marvin’s passing. I loved him dearly and will always remember his kindness, caring and sense of humour. He will be deeply missed.

I always thought Marvin was the epitome of a Mentch , and will cherish and always be inspired by his memory.

I will never forget the kindness of Marvin and Regina when I was a child on Wigan Cres. The apple cakes and kindness every time I came over which was often. Very sorry to hear of Marvin’s passing. We were neighbours long time ago on Delaware Ave. I would bump into him occasionally and with his big smile he would ask how I and my family were. He would then proudly tell me about his family. My condolences to the family.

Our uncle Malachi was a great man. He was the “ying” the youngest of four and he always listened yo his sisters. OurDad,zevek and Malachi had a lot of adventurousness ideas. They were great friends. Marvin was a regular at Adath Israel's morning minyan for years. I remember him as such a sweet, friendly, lovable man. My condolences to his family.

To the Woznica Family - Marvin z'l was a good friend of my parents Gloria and Chaim ( Z"l) Feinberg. I remember visiting your home with my parents. A happy man who loved to pour wine and make a cheer!

Dear Sid - we never met your father Marvin, but we remember how many times you told us what a friendly, positive and upbeat gentleman he was - our since condolences, may his memory be for a blessing.

I had the privilege of meeting Marvin in 1965. His compassion was authentic. He was an empath. When my mother died prematurely both he and Regina would offer me innumerable dinners. In many ways he was a surrogate father. Without exception, when I would visit from Palm Beach, Marvin and I would eat at United Bakers Restaurant. For decades he delighted on feasting on his favourite dish of Kasha and Bow ties. There is a tendency when memorializing to hyperbolize. Sidney and Barbara are cognizant that this is not the case. Emphatically, Marvin was one of the most extraordinary people I’ve been blessed to know. I’ve met and helped elite pro athletes, a former US President and many “luminaries”. Aside from their fame, hubris and material prosperity they never impressed as Marvin the complete self actualized mensch. Unpretentious, humble and amusing. He felt that he could never do enough for me. We shared a deep love and respect for each other. It took me about fifty years to ask him the basis of his authentic happiness? He hesitated and then described very personal horrific aspects of the Shoah. And then a Voltaire-like affirmation, “Paul, I choose to be happy”. I hugged him and asked him to share our conversation with his Sidney and Barbara. He was a true outlier, shaped me and epitomized the incredible nature of what we should all aspire to be.

I was saddened to hear about Marvin. He was as a kind, caring and gentle man with a wonderful smile. He was a true friend to Marcelle and her daughters. He was a mensch. May you be given the strength you need during this difficult time and may you always be comforted by your memories of the many happy times you spent together. May his name be for a blessing.

Marvin was such a kind and gentle person. We sat behind him at shul during the High Holidays and he always greeted us with a warm handshake and smile. Barbara and the Woznica family, So very sorry for your loss. Your dad was always so kind and had a fun personality. May your memories together be a source of comfort now and always.

We watched with sadness from afar as Mali's dear family give gracious tribute to our beloved uncle at his funeral. We will always remember Mali, zichrono l'vracha, for his abundant generosity of time, care and availability to help in any way he could, for us, for family and especially his siblings; notably what we saw first hand for our mother and mother-in-law, Hanka, z'l. The bright twinkle in his eye still makes us smile. We will miss him.

Very sad to hear of Marvin’s passing. He always had a great smile and a kind heart. We davened together for many years and he will be sorely missed. May his memory be a blessing to all those who knew and loved him.

We remember Marvin z'l as a stalwart at Adath Israel. It was always wonderful to be on the receiving end of his warm smile, kind words and great handshake. He also brought his special charm to so many at Baycrest, and became the life of the party amongst the many caregivers there. He will be missed dearly. Dear Sidney, Barbara and family, I am so saddened to hear of Marvin's passing. I met Marvin in 1982 when he bartended for my son's Bar Mitzvah at our home. Later I saw him at shul every Shabbat and later every morning when I said Kadish for my parents. I really loved him. A wonderful warm man, always greeting me with a smile. May your good memories comfort you in your sorrow and may he rest in peace and his memory be blessed.

He always had so much energy and an easy smile Adath Israel was his special home where we would often see him on our trips from Ottawa. I am sure his move to Baycrest did little to slow him down and a donation to Baycrest has been made in his memory, a very special person.

Dear Sidney and family Please accept my condolences on the loss of your dad, Marvin z”l. We met at Baycrest and every time we bumped into each other, he was always fun and charming. I loved watching him bomb around the halls on his “Cadillac” go cart. I also especially loved his joi du vie as he took off his shirt and enjoyed every sunny day. It seemed everyone had a fun relationship with your dad. I wish you wonderful memories of the man who from what I could see, loved life and people.

Dear Sid, Barbara and family, Your dad was one of a kind. Always happy, always working hard and always kibitzing and enjoying life. Your dad was one of my parent’s very dearest friends and they go back well over 60 years. So many memories from Jackson’s Point, Tachies, Chrystal beach and many more. I have fond memories of bartending with your dad at Adath Israel and the Lodger as well as many private parties. Your dad’s energy was remarkable. I also remember going to the wreckers with him to get car parts, one of his favourite pastimes. He knew how to save but he gave to those in need. He would take the shirt off his back to help his friends and those who he did not know. My mom really enjoyed her time in Baycrest rehab because of your dad. He loved to talk, joke and be a familiar comfort for my mom after the loss of my dad and her injury recovery. Your dad’s spark and desire to live life after all that he endured in Poland is nothing short of inspirational and remarkable. May you cherish his memory.
