On January 15th, 2024, surrounded by his devoted wife Rochelle and children Dwight (Bonnie) and Daniel. Predeceased by his daughter Sandi. Max will be missed by his stepchildren Stuart (Janice), Randy (Jo) and Kevin Lofsky, and his loving daughter-in-law, Susie Petersiel Berg. Zadie Max deeply loved, and was loved by, his grandchildren Jason (Caren), Olivia, Jacob and Mason and great- grandson Simon. Max unfortunately didn’t get to spend enough time with Daniel’s partner Beth Goldenberg. Max had an epic run, born in 1927, living a great life and remaining in his home for 96 1/2 years until a lot of age and a little bit of Covid caught up to him. He and Rochelle travelled the world, danced up a storm, and occasionally picked up the 7-10 split. They loved ocean cruises, the theatre
and the company of their many friends and extended family, with a special mention to Max’s niece Zana who works tirelessly to keep the family together. Max is also still remembered fondly by kids he coached in Forest Hill hockey fifty years ago. There were hot dogs for everyone after the game, even if you didn’t score a goal. That was Max. Our family would like to thank the caring and overworked staff at Toronto Western Hospital and the EW Bickle Complex Care Centre. We are also grateful to his home caregivers Lanier and Mila, the Dream Team, who spent many happy hours at home with Max. If you would like to make a donation in Max’s memory, you may make one to the Baycrest Foundation or to your favourite charity.
