Froim (Frank, Chaim) Brandt, a man of strength and resilience, passed away on June 21, 2024, in Toronto, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know him. Born in Odessa, Ukraine, on February 3, 1937, Frank’s life was a testament to the enduring power of the human spirit in the face of unimaginable adversity.
As a Holocaust survivor, Frank’s early years were marked by unspeakable horrors and profound loss. Yet, he emerged from the darkness with a determination to live a life filled with love, and creativity. He was a loving father to his son, Leonid Brandt, and daughter, Angelica Brandt, and a doting grandfather to Rochelle, Marlon and Misha. His great-granddaughter, Maia, brought him immeasurable joy and pride.
Frank was a man of many talents and passions. As a stationary engineer, he dedicated himself to his work with unwavering commitment and expertise. His love for poetry, astrology, and photography allowed him to express the depth of his soul and capture the beauty of the world around him. His keen intellect and insatiable curiosity enriched the lives of all who knew him.
Frank illuminated the lives of those around him. His unwavering support and guidance were a source of strength for his family and friends. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by his warmth and wisdom. Born in a communist country, Frank was not allowed to practice Judaism. One of this last requests was to be have a “proper” Jewish funeral.
The funeral service to honor Froim’s life will be held on June 23, 2024, at 12 PM, at Steeles Memorial Chapel, followed by a procession to Pardes Chaim.
Froim (Frank) Brandt’s passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to have known him. His memory will forever be a blessing, and his legacy will endure through the generations. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his family and friends find comfort in the cherished memories they hold dear.
