Eleanor (Evelyn) Stober

In her 91st year, born January 4, 1933 in Montréal, Québec it is with a heavy heart we sadly announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Eleanor (Evelyn) Stober, in Toronto, Ontario on Thursday, September 27, 2024.

Beloved wife of the late David Stober. Devoted mother of Stephen, and Jeffrey. Loving grandmother of Daniel (Elise) and Eric. Proud great-grandmother of Jonah and Jake. Predeceased by her adoring parents Joseph (Joe) Borenstein and Gertrude (Gertie) Weiner. She will be sadly missed by her many cousins, nieces, nephews, family, friends and by all who knew and loved her for who she — was a genuinely kind and compassionate woman, way ahead of her time. Special thanks to her doctors, caregivers and nurse practitioner.

Blessed with such incredible beauty, both inside and out, Eleanor loved her family to no end and had a fulfilling passion for the arts, particularly in high fashion and teaching children’s theater. She lovingly pursued her passions throughout her life and passed this wonderful creative sensibility onto her children and grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements with Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W. Montreal at 11:00 am on Monday, September 29, 2024 followed by a burial at Chevra Kadisha Congregation section, Kehal Israel Cemetery D.D.O. Buffet luncheon to follow at Marriott Montreal Midtown, 6787 Decarie blvd.

A small private gathering honoring Eleanor will be held in Toronto at a later date.
