Dr. Samuel Newman, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and respected Periodontist, passed away on January 6, 2025, in Toronto. Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, he dedicated his life to family  dentistry, and community.

Sam shared a loving marriage of 64 years with his wife, Goldie, and together they raised their children, Lionel and Alexandra, passing down values of kindness and resilience. He was a proud grandfather to Jack, Corey, Aiden, Charlie, and great-grandfather to Miles. Sam was the cherished brother of Sally Kert, the late Ruth Marks and Albert Newman.

A member of the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity and a teacher at the University of Toronto Dental School, Samade significant contributions to the field of Dentistry. He was also an active member within many community organizations. He was a lifelong learner, continually seeking knowledge and growth.

Sam is survived by his wife Goldie, his children Lionel (Stacey) and Alexandra (David Altow), his grandchildren, and his sister Sally. His warmth, wisdom, and dedication left a lasting impact on all who knew him.  May he rest inpeace.
