Rodney.H I’m writing this with a heavy heart and deep respect for the incredible love and life you gave Daniel. Though Daniel was taken from Andrea and me when he was just 6 months old, we always held hope that he’d grow up in a good home—and from everything I’ve come to know, that’s exactly what you gave him. You raised him with care, gave him a strong foundation, and helped shape the wonderful young man I had the privilege of finally getting to know. When Daniel turned 18 and became curious about his roots, he reached out. We met when he was 19, and from there, we built a real connection. We worked together cleaning windows, I taught him a few chords on the guitar, and we shared laughs over his favorite shows. One of my favorite memories is watching him have his first Christmas dinner with me and my girlfriend’s family—it was simple, but special. I also got to see him finish his first college course and start dreaming big about what came next. Daniel was so much more than just a bridge between two families. He was a light in both our lives. I know your loss is immense, and I want to acknowledge the years of love, lessons, and sacrifices you gave him. Thank you for raising him into someone kind, curious, and full of heart. My deepest condolences. We’ve been playing basketball with Daniel every Monday and he always a great sport and brought a fun competitive spirit. He will always be remembered by our basketball group.

To Wendy and family I am incredibly sorry for your loss. I met Daniel playing basketball on Mondays regularly. While he was a fierce competitor that never gave up or backed down to anyone (including people twice his size), he was above all a good team mate and showed incredible character, sportsmanship and care. He will be deeply missed and I am thankful for the small time that we had together. My deepest condolences to all his family.
