Allen Finklestein passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Devoted husband to Miriam for 57 years. Beloved father and father-in-law to Perry (Karen), Matthew (Naiad), and Jeremy (Krista). Cherished Zaidy to Paul, Amanda, Emilie, Julia, Chloe, and Harrison — he will be forever remembered for his warmth, humour, and generous heart.
Allen was the eldest child of his adored parents, Harry and Leona, and a loving brother to Carol (Shep) and uncle to Michael.
Born and raised in Toronto, Allen grew into a successful entrepreneur who built his life around family, friendship, and connection. A passionate fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays, he loved nothing more than cheering on his teams — whether from the stands or the comfort of his living room.
He had a deep appreciation for jazz, a love of reading, a curiosity that kept him researching and sharing new articles with his family, and a well-known fondness for visiting the casino and traveling. Allen was proud of his Jewish heritage and embodied the values of kindness, community, and generosity.
Above all, Allen was a people person — deeply social, fiercely loyal, and endlessly welcoming. He made friends wherever he went and was always there for those who needed him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the joy of knowing him.
