Nita Rabinowitz, a beloved and cherished soul, passed away on June 16, 2025, in Toronto, leaving behind a legacy of love and strength that will forever be remembered by her family and friends. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, on October 31, 1931, Nita’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Nita was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She faced unimaginable tragedy at a young age when she lost her first husband, Harry, at the tender age of 32, leaving her with the immense responsibility of caring for her two young daughters, Irma and Avril. With grace and determination, Nita embraced her role as a single mother, providing unwavering love and support to her daughters as they navigated life’s challenges.
In addition to her role as a mother, Nita was an accomplished businesswoman, navigating the world of commerce with love and devotion. Her strength and resilience were evident in every aspect of her life, and she inspired those around her with her unwavering spirit.
In 1994, Nita emigrated to Toronto with her second husband, Sydney, with whom she shared 54 years of love and companionship. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Nita’s warmth and kindness endeared her to everyone she met, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Nita leaves behind a beautiful family legacy, including her daughters Irma and Avril, son-in-law Morris, partner Larry, grandchildren Marc and Rachel, Frank and Kyle, Jodi and Jonathan, Daniel and Jordana, Darren and Carolynn, Lance and Jen, and 15 great-grandchildren: Leah, Ezra, Daniel, Mia, Jake, Lily, Dylan, Jacob, Seth, Zale, Emilia, Leo, Hart, Wesley, Reid, and Julius. Her love and guidance will continue to live on through the generations she leaves behind.
Nita Rabinowitz will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit, love, and strength will continue to inspire and uplift those who carry her memory in their hearts. May her soul rest in eternal peace, knowing that her legacy of love and resilience will live on for generations to come.
