Eddie Schreiber, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on July 2, 2025, in Toronto. He leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to his family and those fortunate enough to have known him.
Born on April 3, 1955, in Haifa, Israel, Eddie was the cherished son of Simon and Yona Schreiber (z”l), and the devoted brother of Fina and Renee. From an early age, he exemplified a deep sense of responsibility and care for others—qualities that defined every chapter of his life.
Eddie served with pride in the Israel Defense Forces, where he demonstrated courage, resilience, and a steadfast commitment to his birth country. His time in the military shaped the values that would guide him throughout his life: integrity, diligence, and an enduring work ethic.
A gifted civil engineer, Eddie approached his profession with quiet excellence, precision, efficacy and humility. He earned the admiration of colleagues and clients alike, not only for his technical skills but also for the respect, honesty and decency with which he treated everyone.
In 1978, Eddie married the love of his life, Esther. Together, they built a life anchored in love, mutual respect, and enduring partnership. Their bond was a constant source of strength and joy—for each other, and for their children: Doron, Sarit (Chanan), and Danya (Brian). Eddie was a devoted and loving father, and while his time with his grandchildren was too brief, he would have taken immense joy and pride in Maya, Lev, and Eitay.
Eddie will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and unwavering support. He was a man of quiet strength and deep kindness, always ready to offer a helping hand. His presence will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory be a blessing and may his soul find eternal peace.
