Abram (Adam) Smuszkowicz died September 10th, under the tender and compassionate care of the palliative team at Princess Margaret hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was a wonderful son to his mother Alina and his late father Peter. He will be deeply missed by his daughters Alexis (Mike) and Chelsea and stepdaughter, Kathleen (James). He was a proud grandfather to his beautiful granddaughter Augusta. Adam was dedicated to his partner Kate Trotter of over 20 years. He leaves behind many broken hearts, but also precious memories shared with his brother Ben, sister-in-law Barbara, his loving cousins, extended family, friends and colleagues.
Adam was a passionate aviator and a master architect who touched many lives with his creative artistry. He was loved by many – both human and canine – and admired by everyone he knew.
The family thanks the many dedicated doctors and nurses at Princess Margaret Hospital for their incredible care throughout this challenging time. Their kindness never wavered and that gave Adam the confidence and courage he needed to fight as long as he did.
May his memory be a blessing and may he rest in peace.
As Adam wished for a graveside service, and to respect his lifelong love of privacy, we invite only close friends and family to attend at Bathurst Lawn on Monday the 15th of September at 11 am.
After the service we welcome his close friends and precious family to join us as we gather at the home of Kathleen and James at 995 Bathurst Street to remember this remarkable and special man.
Memorial donations may be made to the Princess Margaret Hospital 416-946-6560 or Toronto Humane Society 416-392-2273
