Danielle Hoffman (Hebrew name: Devorah Mendel), born February 9, 1974, of Toronto, Ontario, passed away on October 25, 2025, after a long courageous battle with stage IV cancer. Her children, spouse, and loved ones were by her side as she passed. Danielle’s spirit is surrounded by family and love on her journey to peace.
Danielle was a beloved daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin, dental hygiene instructor, friend, and wife. Though if you asked her, she was most importantly a most beloved mother. She touched the lives of anyone she ever met through her incredible compassion, energy, and love for others. Danielle was a generous friend and possessed a brilliant mind and an empathetic heart.
Danielle attended George Brown college in her 20s and received a degree in dental hygiene. One of her proudest accomplishments was graduating from Brock University at age 48, earning a Bachelor of Science with Honours. Her intelligence, wit, and perseverance inspired many.
Danielle went on to pursue a career in dental hygiene and mastered the craft so well she began teaching it. She was not only a teacher, but also a mentor. Danielle built trust and respect in the workplace and could reach people in very rare and vulnerable ways.
Danielle was passionate about creating. She was a creator of true art, whether through her exceptional baking skills or ability to decorate a room like no other. Danielle loved the performing arts and anything musical. The art she created reflected her complexly beautiful soul. Danielle also found most pleasure being in nature and connected beautifully with all things around her.
Danielle is survived by her mother Marie Louise Harrari, her husband Herit Barroso Garcia, and her children Ariel, Jerit, and Rylan Barroso-Hoffman, all who will forever cherish her memory and pass on her love.
Danielle was predeceased by grandmother Rachel Ikka and Father Joel Hoffman, who are now with Danielle on her journey.
Funeral services will be 1:30 on October 26, 2025 at Steeles Memorial Chapel. We invite family and friends to join us in remembering and celebrating Danielles beautiful and fulfilling life. The family requests that donations be made to Chai Lifeline Canada https://chailifelinecanada.org in honour of their continued support.
Interment will follow at Pardes Chaim Cemetery.
