Sidney Mendelsohn
September 16, 1944 – April 28, 2026

Sidney (Sid) Mendelsohn passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.

He was the beloved father of Lillian Mendelsohn, and a devoted brother to the late Ester Groskopf, Milton Mendelsohn, Raymond Mendelsohn, and Ruth Goldman.

Sid will be deeply missed by his cherished great-nieces and great-nephews: Sharona Anderson, Adina Algai, Allan Cohen, and David Moses; and by his great-great-nieces and nephews: A.J. and Micayla Anderson, Etai and Danielle Algai, and Aaron and Rebecca Cohen. He will also be fondly remembered by his extended family and many friends.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff on the 3rd floor of the Reactivation Care Centre (Church Site) for their compassionate care and support during his final months.

A celebration of life will be held in the coming months.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Sidney’s memory may be made to one of the following organizations: Trillium Health Partners Foundation, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, Kidney Foundation of Canada, Cancer Society Canada, Diabetes Canada, or the Alzheimer Society of Toronto.

He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. May he rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing.
