HANDELMAN, Arnold Saul, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by family.

Arny will be sorely missed with great love and devotion by his “besherta” Elkie (Elaine, née Halter) with whom he shared a passionate love affair and an inspiring marriage of almost 60 years; his adoring children Jill Presser (the late John Duffy), Kenny Handelman and Mariel Clayton, Judi Handelman (the late Arturo Mundigo), David Handelman and Tamara Taub; his grandchildren who were crazy for their Zaidie: Kohle Handelman Kerman, Martine Handelman Duffy and Maria Lemire, Simone Handelman Duffy, Leora Taub-Handelman, and Lily Mundigo; his loving sister Elaine Davis and brother-in-law Allan Davis; his late brother-in-law Howard Halter; and his many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He instilled and inspired the values of close and enduring family bonds, love of learning, curiosity, and the joy of togetherness. His children and grandchildren were an endless source of nachas to him and they are his living legacy.

Arnold was a fantastic storyteller who always had a joke or a piece of advice at the ready. He embraced life, living with passion, intensity, warmth, and joie de vivre. He was a man of great intellect who enjoyed sharing his vast knowledge, being a mentor, fulfilling cohen duties, and acting as a spiritual leader for Jewish life events and holidays.

He will be remembered for his courage and strength in fighting right to the very end.
