Denise Ruth Gold (née Gavronsky) passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026. She was a loving mother, granny, sister and friend, who brought a wonderful sense of humor, a keen intellect, and great passion to everything she did. Born in Johannesburg, in 1939, Denise had four children; Michael & Jocoba (“Toitjie”), Kevin & Emma, Peter & Bev, and Amanda & Josh. Denise settled in Toronto more than forty years ago where she built a new life, was a prominent fundraiser, teacher and member of both the Jewish and wider Toronto community. Denise was a lifelong learner, an avid golfer and athlete, and a lover of music and theatre. She loved to share meals, laugh, and learn with her many close friends. Above all, Denise loved nothing more than spending time with her family. Her love extended to family across Canada, England, South Africa, and Australia. She was a dear granny to Sasha, Zack, Michaela, Shani, Jonny, Zoe, Mia, Maya, Sammy, Gabby, Misha, Joel, Emma, and Lawrence, and a proud great-grandmother to 5 beautiful great-grand children. We are deeply grateful to Lei-Ann, Michelle, and the Palliative Care Team from the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care. Denise will live in our hearts forever, and her memory will be a blessing to us all.
