In Loving Memory of Boris Gurevich
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Boris Gurevich on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
Boris was a wise, intelligent, and caring man who was loved by his family and friends. Known for his humour and kindness, he always brought joy to those around him and left a smile on everyone’s face.
He was a survivor of the Siege of Leningrad, yet despite his struggles, his kindness, sense of humor, and ambition is what he’ll be remembered for most. He never shied away from fighting for what is right. He showed up when those closest to him needed him most.
Boris was also the Vice-President of the Canadian Association of World War II Veterans from the Soviet Union, dedicating himself to honouring the experiences and sacrifices of fellow veterans.
He was the beloved husband of Elena and loving father of Ella. He leaves behind his grandchildren, Michael and Tamara, who will always cherish the memories they shared with him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family and many friends.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will take place on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Steeles Memorial Chapel (350 Steeles Avenue West, Thornhill).
Memorial donations may be made to the Jewish Russian Community Centre, 5987 Bathurst St., Suite #3, Toronto, M2R 1Z3 (416) 222-7105 ext.221
