May Hashem, in this terrible time and place, console your friends and family among the other mourners of Tzion, and Yerushalayem. For Hank Greenberg, it was an honor to have known you. Your quiet relentlessly helpful presence will be missed. There are just not enough like you any more to keep things going. May some of our younger members be inspired to follow your lead. Hank always stood by the window when he davened at the Beth Jacob so that his prayers had a clearer path to the heavens. On sunny days, it was as if he was illuminated by them. He was kind and generous and a valued member of the congregation. Whenever I approached him for donations to the shul's bazaar, he would always provide a number of sweaters that helped us alot over the years. May he rest in peace and be a "gitta beta" for all those who knew him.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Hank. He was a gentleman of the highest order, and I have many fond memories of his kindness to my parents, Moshe and Toni Kurtz, aleihem haShalom. HaMakom y'nachem eschem b'soch sh'ar aveilei Tzion v'Yerushalayim.

Hank did many things that others may never have known. Hank would meet someone for dinner at the Baycrest. He knew that my mother liked the Chicken Gumbo soup - which was only available every other Tuesday. For many years he would pick it up when available and bring it home. An added note - he always told me "I took most of it from the bottom - that's where the meat is." A wonderful caring soul.

Only found this out by accident. Yossi ( Joseph ) and I went to the cemetery to say some Tehillim for Dad, A"H, and our other brother Shlomo A"H. Then Joseph noticed the name Albert Greenberg. Isn't that one of the Greenberg brothers I said, and only found out later that Albert was actually 'Hank'. So sad to hear this news.. such a nice guy. I remember learning with Hank and others at Beth Jacob, with Rabbi Lawrence. He will be surely missed.

I remember Avraham (Albert-Hank) from circa 1958 when the Yeshurun Shul ( in the basement of Yeshivas Toras Chaim at College-Montrose) disbanded with a number of its members joining Torah V'Avodah on Markham. If I rightly recall, Albert and his brother Mitch were among the migrants. Later in the mid 70's, we again met up with the two Greenberg brothers at Beth Jacob. I last saw him at the Shiva for Mitch a"h about five years ago. Albert was an exceptional baal midos. Also, an erliche yid, a rarity for someone raised in Canada in the 30's. May he have a licthige gan eden.
