Will be greatly missed by family and friends.

To Pearl and the entire Gladman family. Today we learned of the devastating news of Albert.’s passing. From the very first time you met Albert, you had a distinct realization that you have met someone very special. A Sense of humour that was second to none. Well rounded individual who was able to carry on a conversation on almost any topic, with authority. Compassion and empathy was just some of his highest qualities. The love and level of care given by his sister Pearl, during his the courageous battle, was a rare experience that very few have received. Dear Miriam - I was heartbroken to hear of your father’s death. Albert was an amazing brother in law and a valued member of the Scott family. His devotion to you was never ending even when he was experiencing health issues. I remember his face when your Grampa David, Josie, and I came to visit you on your first full day of life! He was besotted. I know the last two years have not been easy but you held up in a way that made your father and the rest of our family very proud, but also mindful. I've known Albert for a "few" years... met him at Humewood Public School in about 1959. An amazing friendship that began with the "chevra" on Watford Avenue, Atlas Avenue, Winnett and Arlington... too many people to mention, but created a bond that has lasted for so many years. Schools, camps, summers that were shared... A bit later, Ellen and I enjoyed a few weddings, learned bridge with him and celebrated the birth of Miriam. I am so shocked as I just found out about this last night. My most heartfelt condolences to the Obaznaek family., especially his sister Pearl. Albert and I grew up in the same neighborhood and were part of a small close knit group of Jewish friends who went to Humewood Public School.. I spent many Friday evenings at his house where our routine usually consisted of watching the tv shows The Man From Uncle , The Wild Wild West and was almost always followed by us ordering a pizza. He was a kind, gentle soul "A gutte neshomoh' as they say with a quick wit and a good sense of what was truly right and important in our world. We had lost touch over the last many years and I had intended to contact him in the near future but as we often learn when we put things off it sometimes becomes too late. I very much regret not doing so.
