Alexander Ronald Clinton

Alexander Ronald Clinton passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at the age of 92 after a long battle with dementia. Mourning his loss are son David Baruch (Shifra), his nine children and nine grandchildren and daughter Gillian (Eric) and her daughter Denise. Predeceased by his beloved wife Helen and brother Steve (Phyllis). Ronnie had a successful decades-long career in the international pharmaceutical industry. His kindness, sense of humour, and unconditional love for his family will be long remembered. David Vogelhut

I remember when David brought me over from elementary school and your father played cricket with us. I didn't do well and still can't remember the rules. My deepest condolences at this difficult time. May his memory is a blessing.

Gillian, Wendy and my thoughts are with you and Denise at this time. Covid makes these tragic life events even harder. When I lost my father to Alzheimers in October 2017 and it was difficult enough without it being during a pandemic. Time will not remove the loss but it will lessen the pain and burnish the good memories. Ted & Wendy

He was the friendliest, most decent person, always willing to help; even when some of his closest associates brought him over from the other side of Bayview, he was delighted to meet his old friends, had a kind word for everyone. Gillian, I am very sorry to read of your father's death. I hadn't seen him, or your dear mother, for many years, but I treasure my memories of them and, through them, my memories of you and Denise. Those years at KST seem so near and close, but were so long ago in fact. Your parents were so bright and funny, and terribly English. Even if they were ever to have lost their accents, an observer would think that they were unquestioningly British by birth: their loyalty to friends, family and duty, paying far more than their obligations to their various communities and neighbours, and their kindness, charity, and modesty were as English as the stiff upper lip to be worn on any emotional occasion. I was so lucky to know both of your parents and, through them, you and Denise. My late mother, OBM, also had dementia, and the sorrow surrounding her last, lost years here brought fresh grief with every new day. May your happy memories of both of your parents serve as an everlasting blessing.

We cherish especially the last couple of years when we spent time together at Olde Yorke Fish and Chips and in our Sukkah. He remained a true wit and an English gentleman to the end. R.I.P.

He and Helen z"l were integral components of the Shul for many years. He will be sorely missed just as his late wife.
