We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Allan Miller, born on May 27, 1961 in Montreal. He passed away at his home in Toronto.

Allan was loved by so many; son to Herbert Miller, and Flo Miller (z”l), father to Danielle Altonaga (Michael) and Adam Miller, brother to Alene Clarke (John) and Jill Birks (Kenny), husband to Ilana Tamari and step-father to Tal Tamari, and grandfather to Joseph, Benjamin and Aaron Altonaga.

Allan was known for his caring nature and great sense of humour. He will be deeply missed by so many.

Dear Miller Family. When I was 12 my Dad suggested I pick a best friend. I chose Allan and now, 50 years later, I can say that it was the best decision I ever made. Allan was highly entertaining throughout his life with his scheming, his humour and his boundless energy but what stood out most for me was his thoughtful and caring nature. Sheryl and I extend our deepest condolences to Allan’s family and friends.

There are no words to express the loss of such a special friend and sympathy for his family. I will be forever grateful to have had the time to know Allan. We are deeply saddened to learn of Allan’s passing. Our lives intersected many times starting at Westminster and then at Wagar. We reconnected years later when Allan moved a few doors down the street from us in Thornhill. We got to know him during this time and often went out, always sharing some good laughs. Hey Adam! Steven Golditch coming at you live from Los Angeles, CA. It was incredible to be able to meet your father when I came out and visit last year. To be able to sit down and enjoy food from the father of such a great individual. The hot dogs were delicious, the beer, and the nice lounge that we got to eat at overlooking the beautiful Toronto skyline. Specifically, one moment I remembered about your dad was that he mentioned how executed he was that he was starting to learn Gemara with you. He seemed like he was really starting to get into it.
