Dear Risa, I was so saddened to hear about Amir’s death. From the time I met him at Biluim 1986, he struck me as warm and kind and so musically talented. I had the good fortune to connect with him a few years ago when he helped with some upholstering. We had a bowl of soup when he came by my house and it was lovely to chat and visit. He was also a very talented musician and I saw him perform on several occasions and the joy that he exuded. In recent years, he did beautiful drapery work in my condo and he came highly recommended. Dear Risa, Annie, Faye & Ellie, We were shocked to hear of Amir’s condition and how his illness so rapidly consumed his spirit, zest for life and then his life entirely. When I last spoke with him several months earlier, he made me believe that from the treatments he was undergoing he would be okay. He even cut the conversation short because he arrived at a client who was waiting for him. I continued to say misheberach for him daily, always presuming he would be fine. I remember, the first year you and Amir met, when I came to pick you up from camp to spend the day in Montreal. Since then, we’ve shared weddings and some smachot. We have always taken pleasure in hearing about your blossoming family and about Annie, Faye and Ellie growing up, each one so lovely, capable and talented. Amir was always so enthusiastic about the success in the draperies business and how proud he was of all of you. We were so happy for you and never imagined such a horrific turn of events. We can’t even begin to imagine what you must all be feeling but our hearts are with you. We hope that his memory serves as a blessing and a constant source of inspiration. I'm so sorry to learn of Amir's passing. He was a very kind and patient man. I knew him through work over several years but only now learned of his death as I had relocated out of Ontario a few years ago.
