To the Family of Andy Mayer: I am so sorry for your loss. He was a long time member of the Society, and a very special person. I remember his name being mentioned many years ago on several occasions in our house, by my late dad, Hi (Harold) Mendelson, who always considered him to be a very good friend. RIP.
My sincere condolences to the family! I remember Andy as being a kind and generous man. My father and mother (may they rest their souls) considered him a true friend.
Lisa and Michael, having not been in touch with your Dad for many months, I tried to send him an email and when that got returned, I found that he had passed and the unveiling was only yesterday. Andy lived a long life and so often talked about how you both helped him. He was the keeper of the Seigel family memories too and for those photographs and conversations about my parents and our cousins I am forever grateful. I’d be happy to keep in touch if you so choose.
I tried to email Andy to check in on him this morning and the email bounced... so I found my way here. I'm so sorry to find out he's gone. We had gotten back in touch during Covid, Skyping, and he seemed happy and talkative. He was one of the last people who could still remember old stories about my dad and I was grateful for that. May Andy rest in peace.
