Anita passed away on August 5, 2024 with her beloved sister and brother-in-law by her side. Anita was a loving wife of 50 years to Eddy, who also left us far too soon. Anita leaves behind her sister Mindy Bullion (Joe Benmergui), sister-in-law Linda Fingerote (Robert), sons David and Kevin (Sharon Zolondek), grandchildren Eden, Dalia and Noa, and niece and nephews Michael Benmergui (Monika Lara), Sarah Benmergui, and Yeumi and Ari Fingerote. All are devastated by this immeasurable loss.

Anita was born in 1946 on Manning Ave in Toronto, moving to Almont Rd, where she lived with Mindy and their parents Issie and Celia Bullion. Anita attended the University of Toronto and had an amazing career as a science educator, first in the classroom and then later as a Vice-Principal at Eitz Chaim Jewish Day School. Her love of science remained throughout her life and she was always looking for new ways to share that love with the next generation.

Later in life, Eddy and Anita moved part-time to Sedona, Arizona to be close to their son and three granddaughters who lived in Phoenix. After Eddy passed away, Anita continued to revel in the time she spent in Sedona, her special place.

Like Eddy, Anita’s three granddaughters were a central part of her life and their bond was unshakeable. In recent years, Anita took immense pride in her eldest granddaughter Eden attending her alma mater, U of T, and they saw each other often.

Anita was a wonderful person, a voracious reader, and a generous host. She meant the world to those in her life, and she was taken from us far too soon. She will be missed dearly.
