With deep sadness we announce the passing of Barbara Gloria Gerskup, who left this world peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Barbara’s life was a testament to unwavering devotion, boundless love, and remarkable resilience.
For many years, Barbara faced the challenges of multiple sclerosis with quiet grace and courage, never allowing her illness to define her. She was a pillar of strength for those who knew her, always offering warmth, wisdom, and a steady presence to her loved ones.
Barbara was a devoted wife to Ron, with whom she shared 43 years of partnership and unwavering commitment. Together, they built a life filled with deep love and shared dreams.
As a mother, she was the embodiment of kindness and wisdom, leaving a lasting impact on her children, Brian and Sari, and Ashira and Rob. She was also a proud and adoring grandmother to seven cherished grandchildren: Jack, Charlie, AJ, Ethan, Taylor, Payton, and Cole, whose lives she enriched with her joy and affection.
Barbara was the daughter of the late Elias and Dora Silverman, Holocaust survivors and founders of Silverman’s Bakery. From them, Barbara inherited an unwavering strength and remarkable resilience, qualities that defined her character throughout her life.
She was the beloved sister of the late Albert Silverman. She is survived by her sister Susan and brother-in-law Tommy Jutcovich, brother Murray, sister-in-law Susan Silverman and sister in law Susan Silverman Esseis. Along with many cherished nephews and nieces.
Her family was her heart, and she found immeasurable joy in every moment spent with them.
Barbara’s strength was complemented by the devoted care she received from her compassionate nurses and caregivers, to whom we are eternally grateful.
