It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Bernard Milton Shapiro at the age of 84, surrounded by his devoted family on Monday, September 16th, 2019 at North York General Hospital. He is survived by his devoted wife and best friend, Bernice Shapiro of 65 years, and his loving daughters, Cindy Weinberg and Gail Sokolowski and her husband Phil. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Michael Sokolowski, Daniel Sokolowski, Nicole Weinberg, Jordan Weinberg and his wife Danielle, and Corey Weinberg. He will be fondly remembered by his sister Naomi Korman and by all of his extended family and friends. The funeral service will be held at Steeles Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, September 17th at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Pardes Chaim Cemetery on Bathurst St. (north of Elgin Mills Rd.) in the Community Section. Shiva will be observed at 99 Rockford Rd. immediately following the interment, on Tuesday to Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., on Saturday evening from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Evening services will be held daily (excluding Friday and Saturday) at 7:00 p.m. Shiva concludes Monday morning, September 23rd.
