We regret to inform you of the passing of Bernard (Bernie) Tanner on Friday, March 31^st, 2023 at Mackenzie Health Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Sherly. Loving father of Michael (Shelley) and Jeff. Treasured grandfather of Florence, Clara, and Sharon (Daniel), and great-grandfather of Caleb and Eli. Cherished husband of Mary Covant for the last 10 years, whose whole family will miss him dearly.

Date of Funeral: Sunday, April 2, 2023

Memorial Service Location: Graveside Service

Burial Service Location: Pardes Shalom Cemetery (10953 Dufferin St., Vaughan) - Adath Israel Section

Shiva Details: Shiva visitors are welcome to return to the residence immediately following the burial, and Shiva will then continue from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Shiva will then visit on Monday and Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Dear Tanner Family, As a much younger first cousin of Bernie, we didn't see him that often, but when we did I was always so happy to see him. Known as "Sonny" to the Lewis Family, he was always one of my favourites. I always had a warm feeling for Sonny. Not only was he always smiling and loving ,but as I always told him, he resembled my dad, Uncle Hy. That in itself made Sonny so special in my mind. Alex and I send you our sincere condolences.
