Bernard “Yummy” Rottman
April 10, 1931 – March 25, 2020
We are saddened by the passing of Bernard (Yummy) Rottman, loving husband and best friend of 65 years to Louise Rottman, brother to Adele (predeceased), devoted father and father-in-law to Eve (Craig), Michael, Sean (Derryl), James (Allison) and Adam (predeceased), and devoted grandfather to Corbin, Daniel, Noah, Sophia and Yael. Born in Toronto to Al and Sarah, Bernard was known to his friends and family as Yummy, a nickname from his Hebrew name, Binyamin. He was always there for his family with love and a warm smile, a loving husband and father who provided guidance, acceptance, and encouragement, with a healthy dose of humour. His strength, determination and optimism will always be an inspiration for us. His memory and spirit will always be held close within our family. On one of his last remaining days, after a year and a half of declining health, he still smiled and said “every day is a good day”. We will miss you.
Due to current circumstances, a private graveside service will be held at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, Beth Sholom Section. Shiva will be private. Memorial donations can be made to the Sunnybrook Hospital Foundation 416-480-4483 or Charity of your choice.
