Dear Deborah and family, sending my sincere condolences on the loss of Bernice. She always greeted me with a huge smile on and a sparkle in her eyes. She clearly loved her family and was so invested in her grandkids. I will think of her and remember her fondly.

Shelly Kanter and Michael Lewis

May Bernice's memory be a blessing. I first met this wonderful funny lady when she was a teenager living with her parents on Rabton Court. She, with my cousin Gloria, taught me how to dance. Not well but I did it. We kept in touch over the years and became firmer friends at exercise classes at the former JCC building on Bathurst. The friendship continued. I was a frequent Shabat evening diner at her and Nats. I introduced my wife Shelly to her and our friendship continued. We celebrated Yom Tovs together by walks along the Humber river for many years. The last being just a year or so ago. Her family name was Gold as was her big heart. She will be missed by Shelly and me. Bernice was an "original" and a " gutter neshoomah." Our hearts go out to Nat, Aaron Debra, Nick and the beautiful grandchildren who brought much joy to Bernice.

I met Bernice at the old JCC on Bathurst Street quite a few years ago. She was so very welcoming and friendly and all the members loved being with her. She was always the first to suggest we all have dinner out and go to a casino. I was a willing participant along with many. She was so very proud of her family and bragged always. My sympathies to the family. Bernice will be missed. May she rest in peace.
