It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bess (Pesa) Fishman (nee Glatt) z”l on June 28, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Chaim Fishman z”l; daughter of Shmuel Eli Glatt z”l and Rachel Applebaum Glatt z”l; sister and sister-in-law of Ernie (Yizrich) Glatt z”l, Sarah Glatt, Sarah Glatt Walach z’’l, Henech Walach z”l, Szaindel Glatt z”l, Pola (Perel) Glatt Zaibel Lokiec z”l, Meier Zaibel z”l, Oscar Lokiec z”l, and Machel Glatt z”l.  Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Roslyn and George Keri and Martin and Sarah Fishman. Adoring grandmother to Michelle, Or, Samantha, Jesse, Lauren, Tom, Danielle, Nicole, Adam, Katherine, Theo, and Jonah.  Proud and loving great-grandmother of 7.  Dear aunt to Sharon Glatt-Goldberg and Rick Glatt.  The family wishes to extend their deep appreciation to Ninfa Dimson, who lovingly cared for Bess throughout the last number of years.

Bess was born on July 11, 1928 in Ćmielów, Poland. For 64 years, she was a devoted wife to her b’shert Chaim. Having survived the Holocaust, Bess and Chaim came to Canada in 1948, where they dedicated themselves to building meaningful lives. Our beloved matriarch passes on a great legacy of love of family, strength, and tradition; values which will live on in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
