Boris Foux

Our lives are richer in the few short years that we (Miriam & I) have known Boris. We will long cherish the times, conversations and special occasion dinners we had together. It's a privilege to have met & known him. He will be missed. -- Vir & Miriam Alvaran

Dear Vova, Please accept, and convey to your and Borya's (Z''l) immediate, and extended, families, my sincerest condolences on Borya's passing. Although, in later years, our paths hardly ever crossed, I fondly remember those early years. I reminisced w/ Sasha, last night, about my first clear memory of Borya; location -- the old Republic Stadium in Kishinev (we lived a block and a quarter from it), on the west (main) stand, to the left of and level with the governmental seating. Present were Borya, the late Fima, Sasha and I. What sort of match it was, who played, etc., neither I, nor Sasha, remembered. We both agreed that it was, sometime, in the summer of 1974 -- some 50 yrs ago. Then, in Toronto, at the old Varsity Stadium, in the late 80's -- early 90's , on the street (Devonshire Pl?) along the west stand of the stadium (there it is, again), we would bump into each other a few times (you might have been present a few of those times as well) and proceed in and watch the matches together, even though we had tickets for seats far apart from each other (the stands were never full :-) ). A smile comes to my face when I remember those care-free days. May G-d comfort you among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem! And may Borya attend, to his full heart content, all the soccer matches played up in Heavens! Umein!

Our deepest heartfelt condolences on the passing of Boris (z"l). He was a kind-hearted, talented musician who enjoyed life, family, art, hobbies, soccer, business and politics to name a few. Annette's eulogy at the Memorial Service was a touching heartfelt portrayal of her father’s life, warmth, carring and love -- he will be missed.
