Brenda was the loving wife of Joe Goren, and the couple would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on August 29, 2025. Their enduring love and commitment to each other served as an inspiration to all who knew them. Brenda and Joe’s bond was a testament to the power of love and partnership, and their love story will continue to be a source of comfort and inspiration for their family and friends.
Brenda was the devoted mother of two sons, David and Stephen, the cherished grandmother of Adam and Zac Goren, the beloved sister of Sheila and Marvin Goodman, and the adored sister-in-law of Sandra Goren. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and she took great joy in spending time with her grandchildren, showering them with love, wisdom, and laughter. Brenda’s presence in their lives will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family for generations to come.
Throughout her life, Brenda was known for her passion for sports, particularly racquet sports. She was an avid player of squash and tennis, and she always looked forward to the friendly competition with Joe, often aiming to best him at either game. Her competitive spirit and love for the game brought joy and excitement to those around her, and her sportsmanship and determination were admired by all who had the pleasure of playing alongside her.
In addition to her love for sports, Brenda was an enthusiastic swimmer, starting her day with 20 laps every morning. Her dedication to her physical well-being was a testament to her strength and resilience, and her commitment to staying active served as an inspiration to those around her.
Brenda also had a deep appreciation for music, particularly jazz and blues, and she enjoyed attending the many festivals held in the Toronto area. Her love for music brought joy and harmony into her life, and she cherished the moments spent immersed in the melodies that spoke to her soul.
One of Brenda’s greatest joys was visiting her grandchildren in Scottsdale, Arizona. The time spent with Adam and Zac brought her immense happiness, and she treasured every moment creating memories with them. Her love for her grandchildren was immeasurable, and her impact on their lives will forever be a source of love and guidance.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Klaudia Peticca, R.N., and Dr. Hershl Berman, as well as the dedicated teams from the Tammy Latner Centre for Palliative Care at Sinai Health and Ontario Health at Home. Their compassionate care and support provided comfort and solace to Brenda and her family during her final months.
