It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carl Germansky on January 7, 2017 at the age of eighty-five. Over the course of his long life, Carl demonstrated a tireless fighting spirit that allowed him to overcome the most harrowing of tragedies and create new beginnings. After surviving the Holocaust, he left Europe for Canada, where he married Blanka, who had survived Auschwitz. Carl is survived by the following family members: his two sons, Martin and Perry; his two daughters-in-law, Pearl and Danielle; and his four grandchildren, Barry, Michael, Rachel, and Julie. His family has fond memories of his devoted nature, warm humor, and, among other things, his famous lunchtime get-togethers.
