Chaim Feinberg

With his family around him, Chaim Feinberg passed away peacefully after a long life full of love, hard work and devotion to family. Cherished husband to Gloria for 72 years and loving father to Evie (Jerry) and Stan (Faith). Devoted Zaidie to Jacob (Sheryl), Moishe (Stephanie), Zvi (Sarah), Lisa (Ezra), Michael (Myriam), Adina (Aukosh), Yael (Daniel), Ari (Pablo) and great-grandfather to Dylan, Benjamin, Alexandra, Jamie, Chloe, Sophie, Miriam, Zisel, Alma, Noor, Nayana, Bina, Raizy, Tehilla, Benny.

He survived the Holocaust and dedicated his life to building a loving family in Canada, as the patriarch of three generations. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all.

Service Times:

Shacharit at 7:30 a.m. (Sunday at 8:30 a.m.) and Mincha/Maariv 8:50 p.m.

(No services Friday evening or Saturday.)

Shiva Location:

38 Bowring Walk, Toronto, ON, M3H 5Z8

Please no shiva visits between 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., or after 9:30 p.m. (Also, no visitors from Friday at 4pm and all-day Saturday.)

Shiva concludes on Monday morning, June 26, 2023 after morning services.

My parents had a very long and great friendship with Chaim and Gloria. My late father Philip enjoyed spending time with "Chaimy" as they had a shared past as Holocaust survivors and a common trade. My siblings and I also have fond memories of Chaim. I ("Richy") remember his kind and gentle way and even remember playing as a child in his living room with Stanley's toys when I was a small boy and Chaim would always engage and joke with me. It was a great pleasure to be Chaim's family doctor for many years up to my retirement about 1 year ago. Such a mensch Chaim was. Kind and thoughtful always. Since his son was a well known doctor at NYGH I would always ask if he wanted me to consult with his son. He was very independent minded and always stated he did not want to bother his son and he could decide for himself. WAS ALWAYS THINKING OF OTHERS OVER HIS OWN WELFARE.

Although we weren’t technically “family”, our families couldn’t have been closer growing up. I still remember getting together when we all lived near Keele and Wilson over 50 years ago.
